Something I have learned through dedicating myself to the practice of the animist healing arts is that our relationship with nature teaches us many skills.
These skills can also impact and benefit our relationships with other humans.
In particular, one of the skills I have learned from nature is space holding.
How can we be present with others in non-judgemental, compassionate, and open ways (not to say we always need to strive to do this, but there are certainly many times that it’s a healing practice)?
Nature is an absolute master of this.
No matter what we bring to nature, it is accepted, absorbed, and transmuted.
Having my own grief, failures, suffering, and confusion embraced by nature and transformed into understanding has taught me something about this process.
What has nature taught you?
